It just goes to show that you can be competitive on a road bike. Time trials are no longer the preserve of the dedicated time trial bike. Perhaps you’ve never tried time trialing. Why not consider joining up for the 2027 season?
Thanks as always to the support team who make it possible on the night.
Next week’s event is the Darley Head 1-mile hill climb.

Due to be 2 laps, the event was shorted to 1-lap because of clashing with the World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina. Andrew goes Wild!

Boroughbridge-A168-Walshford — 01 July 2026
The 9th event in the Ceta Form Time Trial League was the well-known 15-mile Boroughbridge route heading out to Walshford roundabout and back.
It was nice to have cooler weather after many weeks of the heat dome hanging over Britain.
Over the last few years cyclists have been using their weekend road bike for time trials which means there is no need for a specialist time trial bike. Some of our seasoned time triallers have even made the switch from using a time trial bike to using their aero road bike. We now find there is an even split between TT bike and road bike on a Wednesday night.
When the results were in, Duncan Mullier (Nova) was fastest on a time trial bike in 34:10 with Andrew Wild (Nova) in 2nd place on a road bike in 35:34. Samuel Mullier (Nova) came in 3rd in 36:11 on a road bike, breaking the junior road bike record in the process.
